Accessibility Statement
Water is for everyone. So is our website.
Last updated: 6 July 2026
1. Our Commitment
Environcares is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards across our website and monitoring platform. Access to information about water, like access to water itself, should not depend on ability.
2. Standards We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and align with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) where applicable to our public-sector work.
3. Accessibility Features on This Website
- Keyboard navigation, all interactive elements (menus, accordions, forms, buttons) are operable without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator.
- Skip link, a "Skip to main content" link lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass navigation.
- Semantic structure, proper landmarks, heading hierarchy and labelled form fields for assistive technologies.
- Text alternatives, meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Colour contrast, body text and interface elements are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios on both light and dark sections.
- Reduced motion, animations respect the operating-system "prefers reduced motion" setting; users who opt out see a calm, static site.
- Responsive design, content reflows for mobile, tablet and desktop, supports zoom up to 200%, and avoids horizontal scrolling.
- Plain language, we write for clarity and define technical terms where they first appear.
4. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:
- Some animated data visualisations are decorative; the underlying figures are always available in adjacent text.
- Third-party content (embedded maps, external links, documents supplied by partners) may not meet our standards; we flag and remediate issues as we find them.
- Older PDF reports may lack full tagging; accessible versions are available on request.
5. Monitoring Platform Accessibility
Our IoT dashboards are used in control rooms, in the field and by municipal staff with widely varying devices and abilities. The platform provides high-contrast display modes, screen-reader-compatible data tables alongside charts, alert delivery via multiple channels (visual, SMS, email, voice call), and touch targets sized for gloved field use.
6. Feedback & Contact
